Ohara

I made the 45 minute bus ride up to Ohara this Sunday.

Beautiful stuff. I was especially impressed by the dandelion that is so common, such a raggedy friend and so familiar, yet the Japanese flower is subtly different, with more articulated petals, less simply golden in its blossom. It all makes me want to go to Ohara.

Yes, I have to insist that Kyoto and its surrounding area have much going for it. However, these pictures are misleading in that they don't show the hoards of old ladies also flocking to look at the flowers. Not that they shouldn't, but it isn't tranquil. Of course, either of you are welcmoe any time.
