Just now a rat caught itself in a trap between the kitchen ceiling and my floor. I was downstairs and it sounded like a toddler riding a tricycle, pushing off with both feet, around upstairs.
Both exist in a furry equilibrium. I have been told numerous times now that weasels do live in old houses. Apparently the rats live along a different track. I was also told that some of the former roomates used to leave food out all of the time. One had a loaf of bread that the rats were eating from one end and he was eating from the other.

So you are saying it turns out they ARE rats rather than japanese ferrets after all?
