Six Hours of my Life Gone
I had to go to orientation for my new job in Shin-Osaka today. I came to Japan on the JET program six years ago and all of this seemed exciting and new, if a little unnecessary. Now it comes of as an odd kind of taunting torture. Everyone there looked interested and bewildered and ask questions. The guy giving the seminar on how to teach, when asked how long he had been in Japan sighed and said, "Five years." Fucking amateur. Just give me the schools, my money, and turn me loose. Well, I guess they couldn't let me skip it.
